About Me

octsun.jpg

My name is Mayke. I was born in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
In November 2004 I obtained my Master's degree in cultural anthropology at Radboud University Nijmegen. I have written my thesis 'Painting Authenticity' on the topic of Aboriginal art and knowledge in an intercultural space. My fieldwork in Warmun provided the bulk of information for it.

I write articles and am involved in applied anthropological research, to give a voice to the issues of indigenous peoples and to encourage cross-cultural communication.
